A Bal-Hop Afternoon with Bobby White
DATE: Sunday, January 22nd, 12pm - 6pm. (REGISTRATION IS CLOSED FOR THIS EVENT)

This is going to be a very special, super fun event consisting of both Balboa
and Lindy Hop classes taught by the super awesome Bobby White from DC!
Bobby has been a devout student of all things swing. Lindy Hop, Balboa,
Collegiate Shag, air steps, tricks, vernacular jazz, and choreography are all
passions he has been studying since 1998. His solo Charleston and trucking
have won great acclaim and awards, and his passion and in-depth study of
classic solo dances like Frankie Manning’s Big Apple or the Tranky Doo have
made him a sought-after instructor on the material.
Check out the class schedule below and please take note of the prerequisites
to help us keep the class levels as advertised.

Classes
Instructors: Bobby White assisted by Carla Heiney
- 12:00 - 1:00pm - Pure Balboa (Int+)
- 1:10 - 2:10pm - Bal Swing (Int+)
For both Bal classes, please be familiar with the following: Up-hold and down-hold basics,
Come-around, lollies, out and in concepts, toss-out / throw-out, cross-overs, moving from pure balboa to Bal-swing fluidly
- 2:10 - 3:10 - Lunch / practice / social time
- 3:10-4:10pm - Lindy Hop 1 (Int/Adv)
- 4:15-5:15pm - Lindy Hop 2 (Int/Adv)
For both Lindy Hop classes, please be familiar with the following: Swingout, circle, 6 count & 8 count rhythm, Charleston, Tandem Charleston, tuck turns, outside turns, inside turns, pop turns, dancing from 120bpm to 180bpm socially while feeling good with it! Basic musicality, basic transitions between 6 count and 8 count. Plus you go out social dancing on a regular basis
- 5:15 - 6pm - Practice
- 6pm - ??? - Dinner and drinks at that awesome pizza place next to the studio
